If you buy your wife a house,
she’s going to want to make it feel homey.
So she will decide to hang up family photos.
Upon closer inspection of the walls,
she will decide that some holes need patched.
After she’s finished patching the holes,
she will want to caulk the trim,
add new shelving around the fireplace,
sew new curtains,
and paint the walls.
If she’s going to paint the walls,
she will realize how cheap the fake crown molding looks.
She will want to rip that out
and add new crown molding,
before she attempts to paint the walls.
Thinking about all the work it will take,
and unable to decide what color the walls should be,
she will decide to save the picture hanging for another day.
But chances are,
tomorrow she is going to want to make her new house feel homey.
